Lake Kivu

Part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, Lake Kivu in the west of Rwanda is surrounded by magnificent mountains and has deep emerald green waters covering a surface area of 2,700 km2. It is Rwanda’s largest lake and the sixth largest in Africa. A visit to Lake Kivu offers a range of activities for visitors to explore and discover. From relaxing on the sandy beaches to kayaking, boat trip along the multiple historical islands on the lake, night fishing together with singing fisher-men or a famous experience with swimming cows, among other watersports experiences on the lake.
