9 Days Rwanda’s Attractions

Arriving at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by a guide and driven to the respective hotel, and then you will check in. There will not be any activity to carry out.

In the morning, after breakfast, we shall have a short briefing by the guide and drive to the eastern lowland of Rwanda. Arriving in Akagera National Park (125 km/2.5 hrs.), you proceed to the park reception for registration, and after we have our lunch in Akagera Game Lodge. Later in the afternoon, we shall go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. And overnight in Akagera Game Lodge.

In the early morning, we shall have breakfast, we shall check out of the hotel and get ready for the full day game drive in the park, starting from the northern part of the park to the exit in the southern corridor. During the game drive, we shall have high chances of coming across the big five.

The big five are lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, and elephants. Not only can we come across the big five, but also in the park are many species of antelopes and giraffes.
To bird lovers, there are different species of birds, including the shoebill and many species of plants. After the game drive in the evening, we will drive back to Kigali.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we shall check out of the hotel, and we will drive to Nyungwe National Park. We shall have a stopover in Huye district and visit the ethnographic museum, where we shall see and learn about Rwandan traditional culture.

By 12 hours midday, we shall have our lunch and continue to Nyungwe forest for the canopy walkway. After the canopy, we shall go to the hotel and bath waiting for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we shall be going to the Kamirazovou waterfall, which will take almost 5 hours, viewing the spectacular landscape of the park with the beautiful sounds of the birds in the forest.

Then, after we go for lunch, we transfer to Karongi. Arriving in Karongi, we shall drop off at our hotel and overnight in Karongi, preparing ourselves for tomorrow’s visit to the islands.

This sixth day will be well spent in water, visiting different islands that can be found in the lake. Lake Kivu is the biggest lake in Rwanda. The most amazing thing is that there is a German boat that was used in the Second World War.

And it’s still in Kivu, where we shall have a chance to visit it. Then, after the visit to the islands, we shall return to the hotel for the night.

Morning after breakfast, we shall check out and travel to Rubavu for the Gisenyi city tour, where we will visit the D.R.Congo border. After the tour around Gisenyi, we shall have lunch and then go to the hot springs, and do some Kayaking in Lake Kivu. Then, after driving to Musanze for the night.

Very early in the morning, we shall check out of the hotel and drive to the park entrance for registration, and we shall find hot coffee waiting for us before the start of trekking, the only remaining species of mountain gorilla.

Later, after trekking, we shall have lunch and visit the Gorilla Guidance in Kinigi. To see how poachers turned into Gorilla Guidance. Teaching the benefits of protecting these species. And also they teach about Rwandans heritage. After the visit, we shall transfer back to Kigali for Dinner and overnight.

In the morning, after breakfast, we shall make a Kigali city tour where we are to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial site at Gisozi. And after the visit, we shall have lunch and wait for the late afternoon flight.
