Day1

Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Arriving at Kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by a guide and driven to the respective hotel, and then you will check in. There will not be any activity to carry out.

Day2

Transfer to Akagera National Park

In the morning after breakfast, we shall drive to the eastern lowland of the country where Akagera national park is located, and it will be an almost 2 and a half hours’ drive. There will be a sharing of stories about the traditional culture of Rwanda.

On the way to the park, we shall be viewing the beautiful landscape of the lowland. We shall be in the park around midday and do a short game drive, and after that, go to Akagera Game Lodge for supper and overnight.

Day3

Full game drive in Akagera National Park

In the morning, after breakfast, we shall have to check out of the hotel and get prepared for the activity, which will be a full-day game drive in the park, looking for different species of animals.
We shall start our game drive from the southern part of the park and exit from the northern corridor. We shall have high occasions of coming across the big five.

The big five are lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, and elephants. Not only can we come across the big five, but also in the park are many species of Antelopes and giraffes. To bird lovers, there are different species of birds, including the rare shoebill and many species of plants. After the game drive in the evening, we will drive back to Kigali.

Day4

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Earlier in the morning, after breakfast, we shall check out and travel to Nyungwe National Park. On our way to Nyungwe, we shall visit the King Palace museum and the ethnographic museum, where we shall hear more about Rwandan culture.

After that, we shall proceed to lunch and then drive to the park entrance for the night. And prepare for tomorrow’s activities.

Day5

Canopy walk and visit to a tea plantation

In the morning, after breakfast, we shall drive to Uwinka to register for the canopy activity. This is one of the adventure activities that can be visited in Rwanda.

Therefore, after the activity, lunch will be ready on time. After lunch, in the afternoon, we shall visit the tea plantation and see how they manufacture it. We shall drive back to the hotel for the night.

Day6

Chimpanzee trekking in Cyamudongo forest

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we shall drive to Cyamudongo forest for trekking with the Chimpanzee. This trek is very exciting and more fun when visiting these Apes in their location.

We shall trek with our picnic lunch. After the activity, we shall drive back to Nyungwe at the Hotel for supper and overnight.

Day7

Kamiranzovu waterfall tour and to Karongi for overnight

After breakfast, we shall be going to the Kamiranzovu waterfall, which will take almost 5 hours, viewing the spectacular landscape of the park with the beautiful sounds of the birds in the forest. Then, after we go for lunch, we transfer to Karongi. Arriving in Karongi, we shall drop off at our hotel and overnight in Karongi, preparing ourselves for tomorrow’s visit to the islands.

Day8

Visit to Lake Kivu Islands and the German boat used in World War 1

This day will be well spent in the water, visiting different islands that can be found in the lake. Lake Kivu is the biggest lake in Rwanda. The most amazing thing is that there is a German boat that was used in the First World War. And it’s still in Kivu, where we shall have a chance to visit it. Then, after the visit to the islands, we shall return to the hotel for an overnight.

Day9

Travel to Rubavu for Kayaking and a hot spring visit

Morning after breakfast, we shall check out and travel to Rubavu for the Gisenyi city tour, where we will visit the D.R.Congo border. After the tour around Gisenyi, we shall have lunch and then go to the hot springs, and do some Kayaking in Lake Kivu.

Day10

Visit to Musanze cave and the Twin Lakes, Burera and Ruhondo

In the morning, after breakfast, we shall check out of the hotel and drive towards Musanze, where we shall visit the Musanze caves, and after touring the cave, we shall led to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo and view the spectacular landscapes and how the lake feeds another. We shall check into the hotel, have supper, and stay overnight. Waiting for tomorrow’s lovely activity, gorilla tracking.

Day11

Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park and a visit to the gorilla guidance village

Very early in the morning, we shall check out of the hotel and drive to the park entrance for registration, and we shall find hot coffee waiting for us before the start of tracking the only remaining species of mountains Gorilla on the side of Rwanda in Volcanoes National Park, where the gorilla permit is paid separately at $1500.

Later, after tracking, we shall have lunch and visit the Gorilla Guidance in Kinigi. To see how poachers turned into Gorilla Guidance. Teaching the benefits of protecting these species. And also they teach about Rwandans heritage.

Day12

Full Kigali city tour

In the morning after breakfast we shall make a Kigali city tour were we are to visit the Mount Kigali to view the city of Kigali and after we shall visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial site at Gisozi where they will tell us about Rwanda during the Genocide time and after we proceed to the Campaign Against Genocide Museum at the Parliament building where they will also tell us about how RPF stopped the Genocide in Rwanda and they tell us about in now days to the higher development.

In later afternoon, we shall return to the hotel for preparation for getting back to the hotel.
