You will report at the headquarters by 7:00 am where you will meet the ranger guides for a briefing and then drive to the starting point of the trek, which takes about 15 mins from the briefing point. The golden monkeys are fast and very active, jumping from tree to tree, this is possible with their long tails that provide balance.
These tails can also get stuck by the bamboo, and these are cut off as you will view some monkeys with short tails. They mostly live in the bamboo forests as well as vegetation at the far base of the Volcanoes mountain. They can easily be found by just following traces of the fresh leftovers of the bamboo shoots eaten. Guests also enjoy these primates for an hour, watching them as they pick bamboo shoots. After this memorable experience, you will then be driven back to Kigali to your hotel.
